9th of December – Act with compassion
We mirror the behaviours of those around us, so you are in a unique position to serve as an influential role model for compassionate acts where they are genuinely needed and demonstrating care for the basic needs of your staff. The rapid move to remote working allows for more flexibility where it is possible. For example, if you manage by outcomes does it matter when the work is done? For some roles it probably does but for others being present between9–5pm is no longer as important. One of our clients has been very flexible since the start of lock down and continues to be so in recognition of the fact that many staff have been homeschooling, working on reduced hours, looking after shielding family members and so on. This has produced a very positive, motivated, and loyal response from staff
