14th of December – A strong employer brand and value proposition

Taking more of a talent management approach means an organisation being more planful and strategic with regard to its recruitment and retention by:

  • Creating a strong employer brand and value proposition, to attract talented individuals to want to come and work for you
  • Planning and anticipating future workforce needs, drawing from organisational strategies, planned changes and any known trends
  • Developing succession plans, by highlighting key roles within the organisation which are business-critical and then identifying and developing a pool of potential internal successors to be ready to apply for each of those identified roles if they become vacant
  • Actively and regularly reviewing the skill mix needed to deliver a particular service into the future, and particularly prior to any recruitment. This is the opposite of just recruiting ‘like for like’ when someone leaves. It is instead taking a moment to step back and consider current and future demands and direction of the service,so that you can recruit to a role which will help you deliver in the medium to long term
